Marc S. Weiss

Marc Weiss has been the Director of Economic Development for Hanover County since July 1999.  Previously, he was Hanover County’s Deputy Planning Director, primarily responsible for supervision of the site plan review and GIS programs.

Mr. Weiss was President of Marc Weiss & Associates, a Planning and Engineering Consulting firm in Leesburg, Virginia, for 12 years before coming to Hanover County.  Mr. Weiss was Chairman of the Leesburg Economic Development Commission from 1996 to 1998 and a member of the Loudoun County Economic Development Advisory Committee from 1982 to 1992.

Mr. Weiss received a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Behavioral Sciences from the University of California at Davis and holds a Master of Regional Planning degree from the University of North Carolina.  He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners and the Virginia Economic Developers’ Association.
